Building Your First Remote Control Sea Plane

If you don’t have the large field it takes to operate an RC plane, then a remote control sea plane might be your answer. Are they easy to build? We will take a look at a couple of different remote control sea airplanes. These two planes are probably the easiest to operate and build.
The Wingo USA is probably the best training RC sea plane on the market today. You can fly this remote control sea aircraft anywhere, be the local park or the parking lot. This plane is easy to maneuver so it can virtually be flown in your own backyard. Building this plane is easy; it comes with easy glue together parts. You can build it in one evening and fly the next day. Even if you crash you can repair with some 5-minute epoxy right there on the flying field. You will get about 10 minutes of flying time out of one battery charge. To convert the Wingo to a sea plane all you have to do is add a float kit. You can purchase these for less than $40. They are made of durable foam. They come with all mounting hardware and some plastic to cover the bottom. They can be attached and removed at anytime. You might want to upgrade your gear box for added power after adding the floats. Add an Aero-nose to keep water form splashing up into the cockpit.
The Wizard is another easy to build remote control sea plane. You can build this plane in about four hours. It is made of sheet foam and is completely pre-decorated. All the glue and tape are included. They even throw in the carbon fiber for the struts, motor mounts and push rods. This plane has amazing vertical performance. It will zoom right across the pond and shoot into the sky as high as you want it to. You will want this plane, from the moment that you lay your eyes on it.
I would love to start flying, what do I have to do next? You never want to start off to fast. You want to make sure that everything is in good working order prior to flying your new remote control sea aircraft. Always check and recheck the function of all systems. Just to make sure that they are in working condition. You wouldn’t want your plane to crash into the middle of the pond, or worse the land. I would suggest go visit some air shows, watch some experienced pilots operate their RC sea planes. Talk to them to get some pointers. Do this prior to flying your own plane. They will be the best source to any and all information that you may require. They can give you information on inspecting and safety features.
I hope that you have found the information here helpful. I have tried to quell any fears and answer your questions that you may have about purchasing and building an operable remote control sea plane. You see they are easy and can be full of fun and enjoyment for the whole family. So go out and buy yourself a plane and enjoy.
