But you have to evaluate whether or not the free software is actually worth using. It has to be able to perform and it cannot endanger your operating system or your hard drive. So how do you get FreeMind? You do a Google search and find a shareware site that allows you to download the program for free. No, it is not piracy since the software is free for everyone from the software designer. If you meet the system requirements you simply download and install it. The program can then be used to solve a problem or help you jump start the creative process. It really is easy to use.

The user interface is pretty simple. You can put in thoughts, words or even sentences into a diagram. The diagram resembles a tree somewhat. You have the central topic in a bold color and then you have lines, or thought boxes, that come off of the main idea. The goal is to get you to creatively brainstorm on the central topic until you have reached a logical conclusion or find the answer that you seek. Some people might use meditation but those more technologically gifted turn to software programs. But there is a problem with the software.
